Today it is time to unbox the August Fairy Loot! Fairy Loot is a monthly subscription box focusing on Young Adult fantasy titles. You can get a single box for £26 per month (plus VAT and shipping) or you can choose to subscribe for 3 or 6 months.

I am currently subscribed to Fairy Loot and August’s box is the ninth that I have received and it is a box I always enjoy. The theme for August was ‘Otherworlds’ and here is what was inside!

fairylootaug2The first item I spotted was one that made me smile! This was a Game of Thrones Westeros Tea Strainer designed by Fairy Loot. This is a silicone tea strainer shaped like a sword which is a fun and practical item. I have never read or watched GOT (I’m too squeamish!) but I keep meaning to try different loose leaf teas so I may still use this. Then there was an adorable set of two magnetic bookmarks from Paperly and Co. These featured characters from Lord of the Rings and there were three different sets sent out to represent the different locations from the series. I received Arwen and Aragorn and I really like the cute illustrations!

fairylootaug1Another item for which there were multiple options sent out was this candle by Book and Nook. There were five different scents inspired by the five different witchsouls which feature in this month’s book. I received Azareen which is a pretty purple colour and smells of lemon, vanilla and pear. I also liked that Fairy Loot worked with the author to create the scents which makes it more special and helps tie everything in with the theme and the book. I was very excited to see a jewellery item from Oh Panda Eyes featured this month. This was inspired by A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas which I read recently and really enjoyed. This silver pendant includes a quote from the book which references the city of Velaris and it is so pretty, it even came in a cute little drawstring bag!

fairylootaug3Next up, there was a gorgeous black and gold satin sleep mask designed by Bookworm Boutique. It features the quote ‘Fictional worlds fuel my dreams’ which I love and I also like that it can be adjusted. We also received a beautiful Peter Pan notebook designed by TJ Lubrano. This plain paper notepad is beautifully designed and it even has a further quote inside and along with a map of Neverland. And finally, there was a gorgeous art print by Melissa Nettleship. This was a Northern Lights print which I love and will try to display somewhere.

fairylootaug4And now it is time for this month’s book which was Wicked Like  A Wildfire by Lana Popovic. I had spotted this beautiful cover on social media and the premise sounds interesting am looking forward to reading it very soon! Accompanying the book there was a letter from the author and a signed bookplate which is typical of Fairy Loot boxes. There was also the regular ‘Fairy Scoop’ leaflet, artwork bookmark, and reading buddy card featuring a unique hashtag enabling you to share your views on the book with another reader (I’m #FairyLoot124278 this month).

I really enjoyed this box and the book choice looks really interesting as usual. Aside from the book my fave items this month are the ACOMAF necklace and the sleep mask – thank you Fairy Loot! The theme for the September box is ‘All that Sass’ which sounds interesting so be sure to check back next month to see what’s inside!
