Today I am pleased to be unboxing the September Fairy Loot! Fairy Loot is a monthly subscription box focusing on Young Adult fantasy titles. You can get a single box from £26 per month (plus VAT and shipping) or you can choose to subscribe for 3 or 6 months.
I am currently subscribed to Fairy Loot and September’s box is the tenth that I have received and it is a box I always enjoy. The theme for September was ‘All That Sass’ and here is what was inside!
The first item I spotted was one with a design that was familiar to me. As a big fan of Ink and Wonder Designs I was so excited to see there was an item from them! This was a magnet inspired by Harry Potter which features the quote ‘I solemnly swear that I am up to no good’. As is typical of Ink and Wonder the design is gorgeous so this will be a welcome addition to my fridge! Then there was a pouch of hot chocolate from Brontie & Co inspired by Percy Jackson. I really liked the packaging on this – I haven’t had hot chocolate in years but this looks really good so I may give it a try!
There were a couple of wearable items featured this month, one of which appears for the first time in a Fairy Loot box – a beanie hat! This cosy beanie features the quote ‘Rattle The Stars’ and was created exclusively for the box by Reverie And Ink. This is inspired by Celaena from the Throne of Glass series which I haven’t got round to reading yet! The other wearable was this gorgeous tote bag by Miss Phi. This is inspired by Will Herondale from The Infernal Devices series and has a cool, steampunk style design and a quote.
Next up, there was an exclusive notepad featuring a quote inspired by Nikolai Lantsov from the Grisha trilogy. This was designed by Alexis Lampley and I love the illustrations! I also really liked the illustrations on the artwork included from Taratjah featuring characters from The Lunar Chronicles and Shades of Magic series. Then there was a candle from In The Wick Of Time. Inspired by Magnus Bane from The Mortal Instruments this High Warlock candle is scented with sandalwood, lavender and incense. I am not familiar with this character but the candle smells pretty good!
And now it is time for this month’s book which was Even The Darkest Stars by Heather Fawcett. This is a book and author I was not familiar with but the premise sounds interesting so I am looking forward to reading it very soon! Accompanying the book there was a letter from the author and a signed bookplate which features the same gorgeous artwork as the book! There was also the regular ‘Fairy Scoop’ leaflet, artwork bookmark, and reading buddy card.
I was a bit apprehensive about this box as when I saw the theme reveal I realised I wasn’t familiar with a lot of the characters and fandoms included. However, I was pleased with the items featured and the book choice looks really interesting. Aside from the book my fave items this month are the magnet and the beanie hat – thank you Fairy Loot! I am so excited about the October box, the theme of which is ‘Villainous’ and it features two books so am looking forward to seeing what’s inside!
