Today I am excited to be unboxing the November Fairy Loot! Fairy Loot is a monthly subscription box focusing on Young Adult fantasy titles. You can get a single box from £26 per month (plus VAT and shipping) or you can choose to subscribe for 3 or 6 months.
I am currently subscribed to Fairy Loot and with this box I have now received a year’s worth of Fairy Loot! It is a box I always look forward to each month and I was really excited about this month’s theme. The theme for November was ‘Ladies That Slay’ and here is what was inside!
This month’s box celebrates our favourite fictional ladies and I was excited to see items inspired by a couple of my favourites. The first was a ‘Hermione’ candle from Flick the Wick. I love the Harry Potter series and Hermione is one of my favourite characters who I could relate to growing up so I was pleased to see this. It is scented with vanilla, lily, musk, raspberry and citrus and it smells great! The next item was a patch from Literary Emporium inspired by Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games trilogy! I haven’t received a bookish patch before so was happy with this and I love the design by Literary Emporium who are one of my fave bookish companies.
Next up there was an exclusive tea created by Bookishteas. This was a fruity blend of tea inspired by Blue Sargent from The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater. I love a cup of tea so need to give this a try. There was also an item from Reverie and Ink this month which was a sticker featuring a quote from An Ember In The Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. I love the design of this so will be finding a place for it in one of my notebooks. And as with the tea, candle and patch, this was another item created exclusively for this box!
When the details of November’s box were revealed there were a couple of things I was particularly excited about. This included an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) of Furyborn by Claire Legrand. This is the first book in the Empirium Trilogy and it is due to be published in May 2018! This is a pretty cool idea and I think it’s great that Fairy Loot have given their readers the chance to receive and read an advanced copy. The other thing I was excited about was the inclusion of a book sleeve for the very first time! I loved the colours on this sleeve which was designed for Fairy Loot by Aunjuli Art and it fits in well with the theme. It feels well padded and has a waterproof lining to keep books safe when you are on the move. I tried it out with both books featured in this month’s box and they fit really well.
And now it is time for this month’s main book which was The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli. This is a book about a dragon slayer which sounds pretty awesome and I adore the cover art. I was excited to see that this is an exclusive Fairy Loot edition of the book with silver foiling which I love! Accompanying the book there was a letter from the author and a signed bookplate and there was also the regular ‘Fairy Scoop’ leaflet, artwork bookmark, and reading buddy card.
I was very excited about this box and it did not disappoint! Once again all the items are exclusive to the box which makes it extra special and the inclusion of two books and a book sleeve makes it excellent value for money. My favourite items this month aside from the book are the sleeve which I will use regularly and the Hunger Games patch- thank you Fairy Loot! I am very excited about the December box which has a regal theme and includes a Disney pop vinyl figure, I can’t wait to find out what is inside!
