Fairy Loot Unboxing – February 2018

Today it is time for another Fairy Loot unboxing! Fairy Loot is a monthly subscription box focusing on Young Adult fantasy titles. You can get a single box from £26 per month (plus VAT and shipping) or you can choose to subscribe for 3 or 6 months.

I am currently subscribed to Fairy Loot and have been receiving this box for over a year and I love it! Fairy Loot is a box I always look forward to each month and the theme for February was ‘Twisted Tales’ which was a theme I was particularly looking forward to as it promised items inspired by classic Grimm fairytales – here is what was inside!

img_2987-2The first item I saw was an individually boxed item and one which was revealed as being included along with the theme– a mug! This was a beautiful mug designed by Aunjuli Art. I really loved the illustration on this and the fact it includes elements from multiple Grimm fairytales. So far I have spotted the gingerbread house from Hansel and Gretel, a spinning wheel from Sleeping Beauty, Little Red Riding Hood, a Frog Prince, Snow White’s apple and Rapunzel’s tower! This is a great item for anyone who loves classic fairytales and curling up with a nice hot drink. Snow White’s poisonous apple makes another appearance in the ‘Poisonous Apple’ bath salts from Little Heart. These are juicy apple scented and vegan friendly! A regular item in Fairy Loot is a candle and this month’s box featured a candle from Wick and Fable. This candle was named ‘The Hinterland’ and is scented with wood and tea leaves. This is relevant to the featured book this month and the author helped come up with the scent to represent the worlds and characters in the book!

img_2988The item I was most looking forward to in this box was the item from Ink and Wonder designs. I am a big fan of Ink and Wonder and have lost count of how many of their woodmarks I own. This box included a woodmark designed exclusively for the box featuring a gorgeous illustration of Little Red Riding Hood. I am so happy to be adding this to my collection. Another item I loved was a pair of socks designed by Fairy Loot themselves. These were witch and gingerbread house socks inspired by Hansel and Gretel. I really like the design and colour of these so will definitely be wearing them very soon!

I have spotted this beautiful cover on social media and the premise sounds really interesting so am looking forward to reading this! I was also interested to see that the hardback edition of the book is exclusive to Fairy Loot and it is signed by the author too along with the author letter. And of course there was also the regular ‘Fairy Scoop’ leaflet, artwork bookmark, and reading buddy card.

Overall I loved this box, and my favourite items this month aside from the book are the woodmark and the socks. Next up in March the theme of the box is ‘Memorable Moments’ and I can’t wait to find out what is inside!
