Today it is time for another Fairy Loot unboxing! Fairy Loot is a monthly subscription box focusing on Young Adult fantasy titles. You can get a single box from £26 per month (plus VAT and shipping) or you can choose to subscribe for 3 or 6 months.
I am currently subscribed to Fairy Loot and have been receiving this box for over a year and a half. But the time has come for me to step away from Fairy Loot for a little while and July’s ‘The Power Within’ box is my penultimate box! Here is what was inside this month…
One of items which I knew was going to be included this month was a mug, and this was a magical colour changing in which the design is revealed when you add hot water. This was created by Little Inkling Designs and includes a quote from Falling Kingdoms. I haven’t actually tried it out yet myself but have seen pictures of the design and it looks colourful. Perhaps my favourite item in the box was a room spray from Geeky Clean. Inspired by Snow Like Ashes, this was a ‘Theron’s Study’ room spray scented with lavender and books. This is an item I haven’t received before and I love the smell so will be making use of this. Then we had a vinyl sticker from Reverie and Ink which includes a quote from Sky In The Deep meaning ‘Breathe Fire’ This wasn’t a book I had heard of but the sticker is pretty cool with a simplistic design.
Next up was another practical item in the form of a tea towel designed by KDP Letters. This features a quote from And I Darken and I loved the colours on this item. Unfortunately, there was a printing error on this item, where the text is reversed, but Fairy Loot are looking to rectify this and send out a replacement! There was also a print this month from Diana Worak which depicts the character of Zelie from Children Of Blood And Bone. Again this isn’t a book I have read but I really like the print! There was a Harry Potter item included this month in the form of a broomstick shaped Quidditch pen but unfortunately mine was missing from the box so is not pictured. I am waiting for my pen to arrive very soon!
And now it is time for this month’s book which was Heart Of Thorns by Bree Barton. This is a book I haven’t heard of before but it sounds like a good read and the cover art is gorgeous! I was also excited to see that this edition also has sprayed edges and is signed by the author rather than the usual bookplate. And to complete this month’s box there was also the regular ‘Fairy Scoop’ leaflet, artwork bookmark, and reading buddy card.
This was another good box although I was a little disappointed that one of my items is delayed particularly as its the item relating to my favourite fandom. But aside from this I thought there were some good items with the room spray being my favourite. Next month’s box will be my final box for now and the theme is ‘Mutinous Pirates’ which sounds exciting!
