July has been another busy month on the blog where I managed to review eight books! Here is a reminder of what I read this month with links to check out any reviews you may have missed!
My first two reads this month were both books I had received review copies for. The first was The Beloveds by Maureen Lindley, a gripping and surprising read which I reviewed as part of the blog tour. I also read The Book Of Hidden Things by Francesco Dimitri, a story of friendship through the years with a fantastical twist.
Next up I read three books that I had received in subscription boxes. I enjoyed Grace & Fury by Tracy Banghart which I received in June’s Fairy Loot. I then went on to a couple of crime novels. I loved The Darkness by Ragnar Jonasson and The Lost by Mari Hannah, both from May’s My Chronicle Book Box!
I went on to read Standard Deviation by Katherine Heiny which was my first book from Rare Birds Book Club which was something a little different from my usual choices but an insightful read about modern life and family relationships. Also from a subscription box was All Our Wrong Todays by Elan Mastai, an intriguing story involving love, loss and time travel which I got from My Chronicle Book Box.
And finally this month I read Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood, a well written and compelling historical novel inspired by true events.
In subscription boxes this month I unboxed the July ‘The Power Within’ box from Fairy Loot. There will be more unboxings next month with my last Fairy Loot, another My Chronicle Book Box and potentially another Wonder Crate from Ink & Wonder! And I will be reading another book chosen by Rare Birds Book Club!
I would like to thank everyone who has visited my blog this month and shared my posts, I really appreciate it; I will be back next month with more book reviews and subscription box unboxings! Have you read any of these books? Let me know what you think!
