My Chronicle Book Box Unboxing – February 19

Today I am very excited to be sharing my latest subscription box from My Chronicle Book Box! Regular visitors to my blog may have come across one of these unboxings before, as I have previously subscribed to the crime and mystery box. But today I am able to share the contents of this month’s science fiction and fantasy box which Louise at My Chronicle Book Box has very kindly sent to me!

My Chronicle Book Box is a quarterly box which is available in either crime and mystery or science fiction and fantasy, with each box containing three books! One thing which I really like about this box is the presentation and attention to detail, as all of the books are individually wrapped and tied up with string and it is always a treat to open them…

mcbbfeb2The first book I opened was The Winter Road by Adrian Selby. This is a book I was not familiar but it sounds like something of an epic adventure which may be a little different from anything I’ve read before so am looking forward to giving it a try. The box also includes an exclusive interview with the author which always makes for interesting reading, along with a signed bookplate

mcbbfeb1Next up was a signed copy of The Binding by Bridget Collins. This is a magical book about book binding which I enjoyed recently (you can read my review here) and there was also a letter from Bridget and a gorgeous bookmark to match the incredible cover design. One of the extra items included this month was a vintage style key bottle opener which complements the book perfectly – I love it!

mcbbfeb3The last book was Nightchaser by Amanda Bouchet, another book which sounds like a fascinating science fiction read with gorgeous cover art. Plus there was a signed bookplate for this one too!

mcbbfeb4Each month alongside the three books there are bookish goodies included in the box. Alongside the bottle opener there was a soap from Geeky Clean. I have received items from Geeky Clean before and I like that they are cruelty free. This ‘Space Rogue’ soap has a sweet smell and comes packaged in a cute little tin. And as you can never have too many bookmarks I was pleased to see a set of six magnetic markers in this month’s box. These feature science fiction designs and are perfect for marking favourite quotes or pages.

As always I really enjoyed receiving a box from My Chronicle Book Box, due to the presentation and the variety of books included which includes some I may not have heard of or picked up otherwise. I am looking forward to giving these a read!
